Here we are at Day 50/78 with the Yoga Tarot Challenge! It seems a little unreal — have I really been posting all this for 50 days?
The asana for the Knight of Chalices (Cups) was very straightforward with this card: Vatayanasana (Horse Pose). I have never done this pose, and at first, I couldn’t even figure out what went where with the legs. It looks easier than it is…and really, it doesn’t exactly look easy.
“In my heart of hearts there is the union of earth and heaven. Amorous ideal — enthusiasm” (p. 12).
The first thing I thought when I read this was the idea of reconciling realism and romanticism. Whenever there is conflict, there is almost always a side that is emotional and idealistic in contrast to a side that is practical and analytical. The classic “the head versus the heart.”
I’m beginning to view spirituality as a way of learning and re-learning (over and over in all contexts) how to bring together what appears separate — to be the thinking and feeling body that can do that.
Something to think about….
