Day 49/78 of this why-must-there-be-78-cards-in-a-tarot-deck Yoga Tarot Challenge. Whew! Here we go, another Monday…!
First, let me just say, that Chakra Bandhasana (Deep Back Bend) seems to me a Major Arcana-level asana so I was not expecting THIS on a Monday morning. 8 of Pentacles, I know you’re all about hard work, but really?! That was not part of the plan. Because my body can bridge, but it cannot be a circle, my friends. Not yet.
So let’s modify this to Dhanurasana (Bow Pose), which is still a challenge for me but not a trip to the emergency room.
“By breathing I connect my Ego to my soul. Abundance — equilibrium” (p.10).
Okay, breathing while in Bow Pose will have to come later.
And I don’t think I’ll be connecting my Ego to my soul today, either.
And guess what? Yeah, that’s okay, I’m still going to make it through the day.
As you well know by now, I love philosophical spiritual contemplation. I’m all for the woo-woo. I’m a Pisces and I totally get it; I’m not on this planet a lot.
But sometimes, it ain’t happening, and I’m here to say that that’s plenty good enough.
Tarot reminds us that some days we need to pull the Tower card. Yoga reminds us that sometimes Shavasana is for the best.
I’ll try to breathe more today. It’s at least somewhere to start.
